Our family would like to wish you a Merry Christmas! It is at this special time of year that we reflect on the past year and acknowledge how richly blessed our family has been.
Sadly, in May, we had to put our 16 yr. old Missy down. It was time for her to leave us for better places so she could hear, see and play again. It was a very difficult time for our family and we miss her so much but think of her often. On a brighter note, we've added to our family in August!
Lexi is our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and we've forgotten how active dogs can be. We love her to pieces and she's a big part of our family already. She has definitely brought a happiness to our home.
Mikell is 14 yrs. old and can't wait to drive soon, thanks to Idaho allowing drivers to be licensed at 15 yrs. old (sarcasm). This past year Mikell has turned into a beautiful young lady and blesses our family with her sweet spirit every day. She is still very involved in travel softball and has continued with ice skating as well. She spent some time on the mound pitching this year, as well as 1st base but her hitting is definitely what people remember her for on the field. She also found time to finish her Young Womanhood Recognition Award.
Nik is 12 now and is "top dog" at school in the 6th grade. He spent a good part of the year playing travel baseball for the Chukars Baseball Club. His team had almost 100 games this season. He had many ESPN worthy plays at shortstop and had his best hit of the season (a triple) just an hour after having to put Missy down. He claims she helped him on that one! Nik also received the Aaronic Priesthood in October and enjoys Boy Scouts.
Alek loves school and is now 8 and in the 3rd grade. He was thrilled to be baptized in April. Alek loves to help others in need in the neighborhood, shoveling snow, raking leaves or picking up trash. He played his first year of Cal Ripkin baseball, with dad coaching and loved it. He's quick in the infield and a real slugger. Stealing bases is his favorite part though.
Tammy is still substitute teaching at the kids' schools, as well as doing work at home for the office. Between both, the days are very busy. Tammy did a lot of cycling this year and her big accomplishment was completing LOTOJA bike race (Logan, UT to Jackson, WY). She split up the ride with her friend and rode the last 127 miles of the ride. It was a great thrill for her, both, the training and the race. She spends a great deal of time being a chauffeur to the kids' activities but wouldn't trade it for anything.
Eric spent a good part of his year coaching baseball again, this time for Alek's team, which he enjoyed. We've been very blessed this past year at the office because a lot of work has come in the door and kept everyone employed and busy. Eric was also put in as 2nd councilor of our Ward Bishopric in July and has enjoyed the church service and learned a lot. We have been very blessed as a result of his great service and are very grateful for his opportunity.
The family spent many weekend trips traveling for baseball and softball this year that there wasn't any time for a big family trip. We hope to make more time for that this year.
