We spent our Christmas quietly at home buried in snow. Kids seemed very happy with what Santa brought them and mom and dad were very happy too. We got together with Grandma & Grandpa Maughan along with the Jon Maughan family for dinner. A nice small gathering for once at a Maughan dinner gathering.
We finally got the snow we've been waiting for and it even started on Christmas Eve. It made for some great skiing the day after Christmas. We've gone up a few times since and it's great! The kids have picked up where they left off last year and really enjoying it. Although, after Tammy & Alek's 10 foot fall off the ski lift head first, Alek wasn't so sure skiing was a great idea. After we assured him it wouldn't happen again, he agreed to head for it again.
Boy was Tammy happy to get the kids back to school. She's gotten very used to her quiet and clean house during the school days. They were happy to get back with their friends. The three of them all played games with each other the entire break.
Nik started basketball and Mikell started yoga and hip hop classes at the gym.
Work has been difficult lately. Eric has had to lay many great employees off because things have been so slow with the mortgage crisis going on. We just feel blessed to be able to provide for our family right now. We're hoping that things improve a lot in 2008.
We don't have much planned this year as far as vacations. All our fun ones will have to be missed this year - only problem is the kids don't know yet. Eric & Tammy have some big races planned for the year that will take us for short weekend driving trips that the kids will enjoy.
